Golf Mates - Hidden Gems 2024

Club Officials recently welcomed Liam Harrison and his Golf Mates as part of a joint initiative in conjunction with Tourism Northern Ireland to highlight ‘Hidden Gem’ golf courses.

Golf Mates have over two hundred thousand subscribers on You Tube so this was a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our wonderful links to the wider public across the UK and further afield.

Best Value Golf Experience In Ulster

Kirkistown Castle Golf Club is situated in Cloughey on the eastern seaboard of the Ards Peninsula in County Down, N.Ireland. It is the nearest links golf course to the city of Belfast (about 45 minutes by road) and is the most easterly 18 hole golf course on the island of Ireland.

The main A2 coast road separates the golf course from the Irish Sea and outstanding views from the high points on the course include the Isle of Man to the east, the Mourne Mountains to the south, Scrabo Tower to the north west and Scotland to the north east.

We have a fully licenced bar, a conservatory restaurant and a resident PGA Professional on site. This means that all your needs, golfing or otherwise, can be comprehensively attended to.

Golfers Guide to Ireland recently awarded Kirkistown Castle as offering the Best Value Golf Experience in Ulster with the combination of a high quality links course, welcoming members and staff being recognised.

Kirkistown Castle has a tremendous variety of holes to keep your interest and being at the seaside means that 'wind' is nearly always something that has to be mastered as well as the subtleties of the course. All these factors combine to ensure that you never get bored playing this course.

Kirkistown Castle is a golfing experience not to be missed. James Braid wanted to take this place home with him in 1934. It is no wonder, come and see for yourself - you will not be disappointed.
